lead core rubber bearing is aimed for seismic isolation and anti-knock. It is widely used seismic isolation bridge bearing in the world. Seismic isolation technology is using damping and shock absorption devices to let bridge separate with seismic ground. It is comprised of laminated elastomeric rubber bearing pads, lead plug insertion and can with matched top bottom steel plates. It is produced under high temperature and pressure vulcanization process. 
Lead Rubber Bearings (LRB) are rubber bearings – made up of alternate layers of steel laminates and hot-vulcanized rubber – with a central lead core. The energy dissipation provided by the lead core, through its yielding, allows to achieve an equivalent viscous damping with coefficient up to about 30%, i.e. two times that of high damping elastomeric isolators (SI series). Thanks to the high energy dissipation capacity, it is possible to reduce the horizontal displacement, in comparison with that of an isolation system with the same equivalent stiffness but lower energy dissipation capacity. Usually, they are circular in shape but can also be fabricated in square sections; they can also be fabricated with more than one lead core. When an earthquake occurs, an LRB can extend the natural period of a bridge and reduce the horizobtal power caused by the weight. It can be a guideline to economical lower structure designs.
